Movin' on up... and Editor's Notes

Hey gang,

I am sorry it has again taken me so long to get back to posting here. I guess I am finally admitting that I just let it get away from me and the longer it went undone, the harder it is to catch up. I will say though that Barbara and I have been very busy with house, yard, Barbara's birthday, and other things.


So, in an effort to breathe some new life into this venture and to hopefully garner a little more public support and response, I have decided to relocate the blog. If you'll recall a while ago I set up a test page on a different blog site I had found and wanted to get some feedback. Well, I never got any feedback really (except for Barbara and baby, I thank you for that), but in going over how to catch up on the blog I have realized that this new website will make that process much easier. By the way, it doesn't appear that I will be able to export any of my posts thus far here, to the new place, so if anyone needs to see the old ones, they'll still be here, sorry for the pain in looking at two sites.

So if you've ever wondered what I look like when I am getting the time to sit here and crank out these blogs then wonder no more.

You've seen me in other pictures but here is the one of me in action, at the computer and working hard to bring you the most excitement day to day. I kid of course, lol.

Day 111: 'Pretty gardens'

Editor's Note: I would like to apologize for the lack of posts the last two weeks and for the last few posts being out of sequence. This has proved a more difficult endeavor than I thought. Also with work, our garden, and other yard or house related duties, it is not something I have had the energy or time to work on. However I am going to catch up today and get back to an everyday post. I also don't like this site because it takes a while to upload pictures and that has prolonged my time trying to post. Having said that I am going to go back to one picture a day and I promise to stick with it this time. As a last note, I will be posting the date of each post above the post since the time stamp on these posts will all say 5\8\2010.

Barbara and I went to Duke Gardens for a bot and walked around and admired the beautiful plants here at the beginning of summer. Day 109: 'Cowboys make me a happy fan!!'

Hey all,

So today (Thursday) was the NFL Draft and I have to say that my Dallas Cowboys came thourgh for me. I am ecstatic that we chose wide receiver Dez Bryant from Oklahoma St. Even though the NCAA didn't allow Dez to play for most of his senior season because of what they deemed as him taking an improper benefit, he is still rated as the most electric and talented receiver to come along in many years. The Cowboys have made this apparent by also announcing Bryant will be given the legendary No. 88 that was last worn by Cowboys legend Michael Irvin. I am dying to get this season going!!

Day 110: 'A happy kitty'

I know I often do posts about our pets here but this picture of a very relaxed and happy Smudge was too great to pass up. I hope you enjoy.

Day 107: 'New garbage can camouflage!'

Hey all,

So at the end of our driveway, near the yard, is where we put our garbage and recycling bins. Well, Barbara and I have agreed for some time that it is not very appealing to pull into our driveway or to pass our house and see the cans sitting there. So, Barbara and I bought some lumber at Home Depot and, voila, we have a new alcove built for our trashcans. We really like it and it looks great from the road or driveway now.

Day 108: 'Mom and some of my first roses of the season'

Mom came over again as she does every Wednesday night and we had a great time eating Barbara's wonderful cooking and talking about our week.

As Mom was leaving I went out and cut roses from my two climbing rosebushes I planted last year. The red is called a Don Juan and the orange and pink one is called a Joseph's Coat. I am very proud of them and plan on adding more rosebushes this summer.
